Restaurants, cafés and bars: what a hospitality space actually gains from 360°

In hospitality the decision is quick, and it usually happens outside your website. Someone searches Maps, looks at photos, reads two reviews and decides.

Along that path a virtual tour does not work as spectacle. It works as an answer to very specific questions nobody types, but everybody has.

The questions nobody asks out loud

Will a pushchair fit? Is there a table for six? Is it noisy? Is it dark? Is there outdoor seating and what is it like when busy? Will I be embarrassed if I bring a client here?

None of these goes into a booking form. All of them decide whether someone turns up.

Menu photos answer what they will eat. A tour answers where they will sit. The second is almost always missing.

Why it matters more off season and off the main street

A shop on a central pedestrian street has a window. Passers by look in and walk in.

A place on a first floor, down a side street, or in a resort out of season does not have that luxury. The only way the window works is digitally.

So the investment pays differently case by case. We would not say that if we were selling by the unit.

What to ask for specifically

Shots during service, not only an empty room. An empty restaurant shows the space but not the atmosphere. Ideally you want both.

The outdoor area in the right season. A terrace in January does not sell summer.

A connection to Maps. That is where most people are looking, and where 360 photography works without anyone needing to visit your website.

An update after a refit. Hospitality spaces change more often than hotels. Ask at the start what a reshoot costs.
